What is iTAG?

The new 2D tag system is an innovation from Microsoft to interlink products, information and media. The system is revolutionary and is taking off globally at an exponential rate.

The TAG scanner is a free application for any phone with a camera and internet connection. This application allows the user to simply scan a tag and his mobile device is directed to the relative bonus media.

So you can scan a tag whether on a product like a rod or pack of lures or even in the magazine and watch a video clip, view a slideshow or simply view a web page for bonus materials and insights on that product.

How to use the iTAG reader

Try it out!

To get the Mobile Application:

  1. Open your mobile device (cellular phone) internet browser.
  2. Enter http://gettag.mobi in the address bar.
  3. Allow the page to load and follow the instructions.
  4. Once installed you will have to locate the scanner on your mobile device.

*Note: Some devices like Nokia keep the application in the “installations” folder whilst others like Blackberry keep the application in the “downloads” folder.

To use the Scanner:

  1. Locate the “Scanner Application” on your mobile device and press the scan tab.
  2. At this point your phone will go into camera mode. Position the scanner over the 2D TAG.

It will at this point either immediately scan, or as with a Blackberry you must press the camera       button to photograph the 2D TAG.

  1. Once you have taken a clear picture the mobile device will automatically direct your phone!
